The little CMS that could

Lately I’ve had the opportunity to work with a number of content management systems ranging from small, open source, to various enterprise packages. There might be something I’m missing, but at this point given the choice I would always choose Drupal or WordPress for any project due to ease of use both for development and the client later on in maintaining their website. No messing around with installing clientside software or updating demo licenses – just a big zip file with lean PHP.

My recent foray into the world of Flickr has made me look at it as more of a CMS and less a photo album. You can set a clean URL, the “index” can use sets as a main nav, each section has various links, your icon is your logo/branding, photos you can use descriptions as text content, tags can become auxillary content and so on. And it is extra quick to update from numerous devices. Now if I’d just get some content on my site.

You mean showing your posts with the longest and shortest titles isn’t content? What?

sweet… i never know what your talking about but visuals… visuals, i get that. next time you should have some photos of you someplace so we can see you changing. otherwise maybe that day i finally run into you again i’ll pass out and have a heart attack because i won’t recognize you. you will be huge and have a long beard and long hair… tiedyed shirts AND shorts… and pink shoes with hearts… you never know it could happen.

If you were indeed wearing pink shoes (with HEARTS – the hearts are important), I too would probably pass out.

A tiedyed shirt would just earn you a trip to Old Navy.
