Since moving to Firefox 1.5 downloads have been painfully lagging in start and completion. Though terribly annoying, I didn’t have a clue where to start to fix it and couldn’t find anything online. That coupled with the many other issues my machine has had bubbling up lately lead me to believe it wasn’t the Fox’s fault to begin with. Short story long, when clearing the download history I noticed one file wouldn’t clear. It was a pesky download that got aborted long ago but somehow was still making a mess of things. Canceling the menace has made downloading fun again.

And on an IE note, just moving a cookie to the recycle bin won’t keep its contents from being available to IE. It has to actually be deleted.
